This is very not good....it seems to have been replaced by a repeat!  Can't the BBC just schedule something and then leave it alone?  I may have to go into a Mitchell rant.....

The same thing happened with the Being Human series 5 premiere if I recall, it reappeared soon after
Fingers crossed I hear back from Gemma McMullan on Monday to clarify!

We have news, wonderful news!


I just heard back from BBC Radio 4 Drama, Belfast

'The Hill Bachelors' has not been cancelled, only rescheduled.

  the new air date is:

Thursday 30 May 2.15pm

Wow that was a quick reply! it was a typo error in the email, fingers crossed this is the last date change!  The Hill Bachelors airs: Thursday, 30 May 2.15pm 

the post above has been reactively edited with the correct date. Phew!

It is indeed - we'll have to listen on the Monday and the Thursday just in case, lol!

It is! Oh my, I didn't notice that in all my excitement! The email definitely says:

 

The transmission date for “Hill Bachelors” has been moved rather than cancelled.  It will now be on air on Thursday 20th May at 1415.  The listing on the BBC website will go up again a week before transmission.




I will email back asap. Thank you Pearl, good job someone has their wits about them!

 That's because I am going on holiday on 13 May which is definitely a Monday and 20 is a week later.   I was even more confused because 20 June IS a Thursdayt!

Someone mentioned in a earlier tweet about a pic of Damien recording "Bachelors" i would love to see pic's of him in the recording booth or studio with the dialogue doing exactly that! I like those behind the scene photo's that capture Actor's in the moment!

Lol, that would be me. We'll absolutely post a link of any pics or footage if they appear J-B! I have been waiting for the like since my correspondence with exec producer earlier this year. As mentioned, it would be nearer the air date. Fingers crossed for no more postponement!

I'm glad that this is still in sight.....even though it seems quite a long way away!  Hope it doesn't receed any further into the distance!

ooh! Recording pics would be lovely - I didn't realise that it was even a possibility.

Given that Damien has pulled out of the BBC radio show & that we have to wait a year for "Ripper" on the BBC 

there had better not be any more postponement from the BBC or i will be giving them two fingers!!

At least Damien pulled out of the Colin Hoult radio show because he is filming, not just randomly pulled out. the Hill Bachelors will def be happening, even if there is a further date change, because it has been recorded already.

No need to explain J-B.. I agree with you! BBH ( before Being Human) I had no TV license, or aTV! but the show changed that. I feel betrayed somehow that the show I bought my license for has been pulled, so any further damien on BBC shows radio or tv are maintaining my investment..literally !

@domino.... Yep your right.I was just having a 2am rant over the BBC!, as a visitor to the U.K i still have to contribute £'s towards their licence fee in shared rented accommodation so i'm allowed to have a pop at them! (Maybe i should have just posted this in the Vent/what makes you angry thread) biggrin

I can actually be sacked for not having a TV licence!

It seems a lot of money, I know, but you're paying for four TV channels, eight national Radio channels, 35 local Radio channels, iPlayer and all the associated research that goes into making that kind of technology (DAB and Freeview were a part creation of BBC R&D) all for 39p a day! Plus a small proportion of the money goes towards the World Service, and ITV and C4's public service broadcasting...

All a bargain in my view!

Without wishing to hijack the topic with the subject of TV license, just to clarify Pradakat, I only didn't have a tv license because I didn't have a TV! It feels to me to be tokenism in terms of democracy though, sadly.

I was just thinking this morning how impatient I'm feeling for this.  When we first found out it was going to be aired on may 9 it seemed like ages away.....now the bbc are just being mean!

Mm. I wonder why they can't settle on a date. It's an afternoon play, they do loads of them, what's the prob? Something wrong with the recording?

I get the impression it is just the way things go with the radio scheduling...things can change right up to the last minute..maybe we should have been less keenly on the case at the beginning and then the wait would not have felt so long.

My view is still half glass full...I don't mind when it comes as long as it does

I agree, changing the dates is annoying. But as long as we get to listen to it at some point. All I gooodddd.
