It is time to announce the results of the ‘Homage To Hal’ Competition.
First, I would like to thank every single person who entered, ALL of the entries are special and amazing in many different ways, and I am proud to be part of such a wonderfully dedicated and incredible fandom. Your time, your imagination, your effort and giving of yourself for this competition is inspiring, heart -warming, valued and appreciated. I truly hope, whatever the destination, the pondering, planning and producing your homage was a special journey for you. For me it has been an opportunity to say thank you and honour Hal and being Human in a memorable way.
I would also like to thank everyone who helped to spread the word about the competition over the past 4 weeks, the forum moderators, London Laura, Su Hemming, Pradakat and Whimsy for all their help behind the scenes and planning .
Lastly but not leastly, thank you Damien for kindly personalising the DVD for the forum competition and for Hal, a character that was written for you and in turn a gift for us, as you brought him magnificently to our television screens.

The prize winners were chosen by the 4 moderators and myself using a point system; each of us chose our top 5 favourite entries, awarding 1 – 5 points to each. The scores were then added up, the winner being the entry with the most points, the 2 runners up with the next most.
Entries were judged on the most heartfelt, involved the most effort, most moving, most powerful, most creative, most inventive.
Because of the high standard of entry, the judging was very, very tough and we all gave it an awful lot of thought, it was close and we had all picked different homages in our voting. We love them ALL. But we do have our winners!

But EVERYONE who entered will have their homage published and their own page in the ‘Homage To Hal’ photo book, which we will be sending to Damien as soon as it is made and printed. What better prize than to know that your special 'thank you' to Hal has reached the actor who portrayed him. We think the book will blow him away.
Thank you!!! I am genuinely quite stunned - the entries were all fantastic, and I thought it was amazing how different they all were....how personal. I am hugely chuffed to have won the dvd, but I'm really excited at the thought of Damien recieving such a fantastic gift from the forum, containing so many heartfelt homages to the character who he made so special. So a huge well done to domino and the mod team for organising it....and to everyone for their fantastic entries.

Congradulations Fifi, Saffz, Scifygeek, & MattyP---and thanks also for the extremely enjoyable competition DMF. I am so happy to see that I'm not the only one inspired by Hal and the big DM himself. I personally cannot wait until Ripper Street airs here in December. But I guess I will have to suffer through watching him over and over and over(etc) in Being Human, I just don't know how I'll survive lol.
Congrats to the winners and thanks for the mods for putting on the contest and judging it! I've done that, and it's hard! Now, like litamanta, I'm off to suffer until December... ;)

I know it is what everyone says when judging a competition but it truly was hard... we individually agonised over our decisions and all of you deserve a prize - I truly hope the fact that your entry will be in the special photo book for Damien is a consolation to those who didn't!

I agree with you, the most humbling and moving thing about the comp is how personal the homages are.
I am going to begin the process of publishing the homages for the book this week, perhaps a rhetorical question.. but is there anyone who would prefer NOT to have their homage in the photo book for Damien? If so please let me know.
There was a card waiting for me from the Royal Mail when I got home from work yesterday...so I did a detour to the PO this morning on my way to work to collect it. (The man on the counter must've thought I was mental, cos I was just grinning all over my face.....still am!!)
My OH has threatened to frame it...but so far it is just has pride of place propped up on my bookshelf.

It's my pleasure HalGal, the final book is looking stunning - I cannot wait to see it! I just answered this question in the other topic, but it takes 6 - 10 working days to print the book and then it is shipped to me, I will post it on to Damien as soon as I can! No guarantee that he will receive it straight away though, because it has to go via the talent agency
