So...I finally voted - for Hal!!

I'd like to think that it's not a compulsion, but a carefully considered decision....but I do wonder if there will ever be a poll where I can't find any jusification for voting for Hal....

Jozie - you're right....Flight doesn't seem to have any real friends, and he does keep his distance from everyone - but having stepped into a new life, any old friends he might have had would have to be left behind...and living a lie means that he wouldn't be able to risk getting close to anyone new.

I think that, ultimately, I had to vote for Hal because, as well as there being literally hundreds of years in which we have no idea what Hal was doing, or, more importantly, who he was, I cannot fathom the relationship between the vampire and the man - he is so full of contradictions.  Yes..his thirst for blood is like an addiction.....but it is true that he didn't even blink when Natasha was bleeding all over the floor, and yet he embraced his dark side - not even when Alex told him he couldn't go back to HH - but when she said she didn't know what he was capable of;  he apparently struggles to control his dark side when Crumb ties him to the chair in the cellar, but then makes a controlled decision to embrace it;  he says that drinking blood means he has become the man he fears - and yet, having drunk the blood that Cutler gives him...he then gives Eve a bottle!  And he attempts to reject Natasha's offer - having already fed from her - because Tom is his friend....

I could go on...and on....but I won't!

I wrote loads before voting, and its all wiped.... Basically Hal has my vote due to age, and the extremes that make bad Hal go cold turkey, to what makes him unable to resist blood every 50+ years, and don't know enough about Flight to give judgement on him... But will soon...
