Synopsis

The new series opens with the return of DS Jack Weston after a period of enforced leave. DI Martha Bellamy is pleased to have Jack back, but warns him that this is his last chance.

Jack takes charge at the scene when a popular art teacher is found with life-threatening head injuries at a sixth-form college. DC Charlie Steele already knows the victim. She had been investigating Abigail Lincolnʼs complaint of stalking against the college handyman.

Harry Webster protests his innocence but he has a history of violence, having served time for killing his wife. He had reason to hate Abi, who was responsible for getting him the sack and clashes with the normally cool Charlie, who cannot help wondering whether she could have prevented the attack on Abi.

More suspects come to light when Martha sets out to discover whether Abiʼs stalker and attacker were the same person. Did besotted Dylan Kennedy, the headʼs stepson, turn violent after Abi ejected his advances? There were also rumours that Abi was about to expose a teacher for an inappropriate relationship with a pupil.

As events come to a head, Jack focuses his scrutiny on the college head Rory OʼHanlon and uncovers a trail of suspicious deaths that makes even Marthaʼs blood run cold…

I'm very much doubting it's safe to make any presumtions about Suspects!  But, yes.....I would guess that it's this ep!  Not long til we find out!!

The Suspects 3.02 episode synopsis is out via Radio Times and not a continuation of this storyline, so that confirms these are not 2 parters (like series 2) and this is a standalone episode! so we are safe to assume these clips of Emmett Scanlan are from episode 1!


Also, did anyone see the new trailer on Channel 5 yesteerda? I missed it but it aired, so keep your eyes peeled!

This storyline sounds really exciting! Can't wait to see the new trailer on TV - it makes it seem more real that it's not much longer until Suspects is back!

Hmm..it's interesting that episodes 1 and 2 are being broadcast on consecutive nights and not weekly as they are stand alone stories and not 2-parters!

It sounds like a classic Suspects twisty turny storyline doesn't it? I honestly cannot think of a better whodunnit format for a cop show, it's so fast paced and edge of your seat gripping, so realistic and the camera taking us right into the action not just an observing eye, that you really are immersed quite viscerally into the investigation. It's clever from ever angle.

10 DAYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ah but it will be #WestonWednesday for Episode 2 whimsy!
(and in Damoland every Wednesday is Weston, whether Suspects is airing or not! )
