This picture still stops me dead in my tracks!!!

There must be another eye appreciation topic on the forum somewhere because I remember asking if anyone knew where I could find an interview with Lord Toby where he said that although Damien was in his 20s (which he was at the time!) he was perfect for Hal because he has 500 year old eyes.  This pic always reminds me of that (still haven't found the interview....so if anyone can help me out I'd really appreciate it!)

Which also leads me on to remembering that Damien said something along the lines that on stage evey gesture has to be exaggerated, but on tv you could almost breathe through your eyes....

I'm sure I'll contribute a lot to this topic - but just now I don't even know where to start.  I'll have to spend some time searching through some pictures.....

This topic has turned into "I need to rewatch Ripper Street" propaganda!  (love it)

 

Fifi the Lord Toby comment about Damien having 500 year old eyes is new to me, but I must agree.  There is such an intensity in his eyes, the Flight photo used for the Twitter interview and the other PR one are the perfect example of this.  His gaze is very piercing when he stares directly at you - epitomizes the old adage of the eyes being "windows to the soul".  In TBOAA when he stared at you as he delivered his lines, it was mesmerizing.  

Damien's quote was "When you're on stage a deep breath is very much physicalized and in the body, whereas you can almost breathe through your eyes on television."

 

This is the moment in Being Human that I though "This is what it means to breathe through your eyes!"  Knocks me breathless every time.  It's a shame Blu Ray's don't allow you to screencap (believe me I've tried everything), to get the full effect.

Ripper Street re-watches seem to be a fortnightly occurence for me! You could basically post any pics of Flight and his eyes would be amazing! I love the scene where he is in confession and has his eyes closed and as he opens them he says I am a liar. Such a clever, striking yet simple action. I use pictures of Albert to inspire my fiction writing - such expressive eyes which help you understand the emotions.

Totally agree Whimsy about TBOAA - incredibly intense, challenging and emotional to have Damien look you in the eyes like that

Good to know Damien is keeping his fitness levels up - it's a demanding schedule he is on...we all thought the hiatus from The Hard Problem would be R&R filled, how wrong we were!

Yes it does fifi and ... more Selfies... purrrleeeease!

Haha whimsy! I am tempted to tweet so many things about Damo working out, so often, but never do! (except for that one time when I misread something... easy mistake, no?! )
