I need to admit I have never heard of "Misfits". Is it really good, I might have to look for it online, as the wait for Being Human is so loooong as well as the wait for Sherlock since they won't start production until January!!! Let's GOOOO 2013!!!! Geez. I am so impatient sometimes...
Ok back to shows, if anyone here has kids do they watch "spongebob squarepants" religiously too? lol, my son is HOOKED on that show and it can drive me insane! He watches others but like mommy with Being Human, that show has his undivided attention!
And what is everyone's feelings on the US show coming out, "Elementary"? It's the, (I guess) American version of Sherlock but with a female Watson! I'll watch the first show before I really say no or yes, but so far, I'm not really impressed...
Are they really making an american version of Sherlock?!?!? Goodness, I hear things like that and it makes me embarrassed to be and American. What ever happened to people having their own creativity?

In the while I watched the first episode of True Love... not much my thing, not implying any kind of bloodshed , but I did appreciate the quality and the intent: it is indeed as love is, making you feel and do and say things that are incoherent but, each one in its way, still true.

MISFITS - also genius - hope the major cast changes work out as well next series as BH did?!
I hope so, too, even if it seems to me that the loss of nathan already affected it (I'm still going through season 3... )
Among my friends here everyone's favourite characters have been Nathan and Kelly...
I adore Joe Gilgun as Rudy, in Misfits, I enjoyed the last series more than the previous ones, to be honest. I'll miss Kelly though, she was my favourite of the girls, and I'm really sad to lose Simon, I was a hardcore Simon stan since the very first episode, so his loss will have the biggest affect to me.
But yes, cast changes, ever since I got over David Tennant and fully embraced Matt Smith as the Doctor, cast changes on my favourite shows haven't been much of an issue, I have enjoyed making TV acquaintance with some talented new people.
Sherlock/ 'Elementary' - (?)The idea of a female Sherlock both intrigues and dismays me!
Luther - real edge of your seat stuff, Idris Elba is a fantastic actor and I love this troubled character and the humanity he brings to him
Misfits - Seeing Joe Gilgun in that role was tricky at first, because he was so SO awesome in This Is England I have trouble seeing him do something else and it felt like Rudy was a bit too close to Nathan, the (incredibly funny) crude joker of the group.
I didn't get past the first episode of Misfits, i found Robert Sheehan far too annoying. Apparently the character of Nathan is supposed to be annoying so yes, that worked out perfectly but it put me off. My husband loves it though.
Really like The Vampire Diaries, adore Joseph Morgan as Klaus in this. Bad British boy, would be lovely to get him into Being Human. I do like Ian Somerhalder as Damon though, he gets some laugh out loud one liners. It's enjoyable brain candy, kind of like Smallville (another love of mine) with fangs.
Did anyone watch 'White Heat' when it was on? loved that series, such an impressive cast and an interesting storyline. Lee Ingleby stole that for me (he was Wyndam in S3 ep 8 of Being Human) He was also in the last series of 'Luther', though i didn't see it. Apparently he was terrific in that too. I also like him a lot in 'Inspector George Gently' which is currently filming a new series. He plays John Bacchus in that.
White Heat was great - i think the reason Wyndam isn't in series 4 is because Lee got the role in White Heat instead!?
have to confess i love The Vampire Diaries - Kevin Williamson (writer / producer) fan since Dawsens Creek etc mid 90s. love the 'cliffhanger', any one can die nature of the stories..plus in a shallow way there are lots of hot boys in it - Ian, Joseph, Steven etc etc.
so how about The Killing (US version) anyone watching that?

Lee is an extremely talented versatile actor. If you get the opportunity to see 'Inspector George Gently' which also stars Martin Shaw, then i recommend that you watch it as Lee plays his sergeant John Bacchus and it is set in the mid to late sixties and at a time where police corruption is rife. It's very engrossing and Lee is very good in it.
Matty, i'm not sure why because i do remember Toby saying last July that Lee would be back for series 4 and then all of a sudden he wasn't and he was killed off off screen (much to my sister's chagrin as she loves the actor). I know he was filming White Heat, i also know he was filming a movie in Ukraine i think and he's in an episode of the upcoming 'Sinbad' series on Sky1. He's a busy boy.
He was also Stan Shurnpike? the bus driver in one of the Harry Potter movies, (the one with the triple decker bus)
There are subtitles available for both "White heat" and "Inspector George Gently", so I have hopes
... and I am hoping so much there will be subtitles for the upcoming "The Hollow Crown"... trailers so far look fascinating, but I can't understand a word
The Hollow Crown starts next Saturday with 'Richard II', it really does look good so i shall be recording. (I record everything and watch it later at my leisure and without interruptions)
Yes, they are really making it... It's coming out in the fall, they even said it's not as "intricately done" as the "British version, entitled "Sherlock", but they think that American veiwers will adore it... I don't know what they are trying to say by that other than, they can't come up with their own ideas so we'll take from another show and change things, like a female Watson...
Lucy Liu is playing Watson and Johnny Lee Miller is playing Holmes. Watson is supposed to be a surgeon that had a mishap or something... I don't know, so far I don't like where this is going but, I will watch an episode and see what happens...
That just sounds like "we've dumbed it down for you". This is just confirming that I've lost all faith in good American TV.... I'll probably watch an episode or two, but im thinking it will just be a let down.. :/

@Ruby just caught Kate Bracken's episode of Inspector George Gently last night and agree with you about Lee, I love his character.
An maybe I need to give Vampire Diaries another shot...I guess I don't let much else in after Being Human raised the bar so high, I tend to be cyclopsian and nothing else at all vampire related will do!
Sorry to be so geeky again but is anyone else watching Shakespeare unlocked on BBC 4? Going to miss Julius Caesar tonight due to our Hal Chat! (thank goodness for the iplayer) but I think it is going to be amazing. For anyone interested, this is a fascinating piece on the filming by producer John Wyver: http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/tv/2012/06/julius-caesar.shtml
I'm praying very hard the God of Strangers not to forget us...
(how many possibilities have us for Italian television to buy them? Less than zero I guess. When I was a child we used to *make* such things... This undermines my faith in progress... )

I'm hoping to see it (make mental note to Sky + it). Oh no. I missed George Gently. I think I've seen it before anyway. I do love Lee.

~Hal Yorke is in my dreams. Can't wait to go to bed!~
I used to be a huge fan of the Vampire Diaries but lately I just can't get into it. I LOVE Doctor Who, Community, Alphas, and True Blood ( I LOOOOVE True Blood!!) I also recently got my hands on Black Books and have watched a few episodes and they were absolutely hilarious.
I just finished watching the fourth series of True Blood. Series 3 was a bit 'meh' for me but wow i loved this series! So much happened (but will not spoil for those waiting to see it or haven't caught up just yet). Really looking forward to series 5 which apparently we'll see in the autumn and not in the new year as previous. Christopher Meloni (Stabler from Law and Order:SVU) will be in and i think he'll be pretty good.
Sinbad starts on Sky1 next Sunday and i know Lee is in that, whether for an episode or more, i'm not sure, i don't even know the name of the character he plays.
I'm catching up in True Blood as well. I just finished season 2 and I did hear that season 3 isn't as good. This new one is supposed to be really good so far but I have a long way to go until I can see it since I don't have the channel it's on lol
I just saw on twitter that "Wallander" will start next July 23rd . I know it's an old series, but it's never been aired before in Italy. Some friends of mine speak very well of the books: is the tv series worth watching?
Thank you
