An Entry for the Written Category Of The Damien Molony Forum Creative Competition, shared here after prize winner announced, for feedback and comments. 'One Gentle Thing' by NikkiWhitehead ---------------------------------------------------------------------- "One Gentle Thing" Every day I sit and stare While he is tied up in that chair He growls, he spits, he starts to swear 'Til he remembers that I'm there. "I'm very sorry" I hear him say But I just nod and turn away This looks to be another day When I wish that I could fade away. But then I look into his eyes He sees my fear and then he cries He says sorry for all his lies My fear of him then quickly dies. He has been cruel, I am not blind He wants to leave that man behind Erase his past and press rewind To become more human, be more kind. Michael eat your heart out...there's a new poet in the house! and it REALLY rhymes and everything! Brilliant work Nikki! This is beautiful! I really enjoyed reading it from Alex's perspective. I could actually hear her voice in my head while reading it. You really captured both Alex and Hal in this! Wonderful work! __________________ It's a really nice look you've got going on there :wink:

Loved it Nikki, even more now I know that you wrote it :)) I've read the other poem that Nikki couldn't put in for the comp too - it's ace! Get it up on here, woman!! __________________ "That's not me glaring, it's just me looking."
