Yes, I really hope the film stays true to the book, especially with the ending.

We know about Zurich FF, but according to the below article by John Niven, KYF is going to TIFF and the Dinard Film Fest (France) and LA, Cardiff! 

( He has been doing a hell of a lot of publicity lately for both KYF and his book. But oh what a privelege to complain about it! )

Was just looking at that pic....and suddenly remembered Tom Riley's tweet when he replied to Su's question about Damo's character - that he was the one with the best haircut.  Makes sense now!  Lol!!

Has that already been mentioned? Sorry if I'm repeating stuff!

Black comedy

I attended the world premier for "kill your friends" at the fantasy film festival in Berlin which was the opening film - and was pleasantly surprised. Usually the open movie is OK, this time it was the best I have seen in the last 15 years going to the fantasy film festival.

I had not read the book on which it is based, had not read the description (as I always go to the opening movie no matter what), so I did not know what to expect.

Kill your friends is about a hotshot in the finding and signing music talent industry who wants to be the department head, however is clueless but very determined. It is an over the top black comedy that has tons of coke and pills, some nudity and gore, and great lines.

I was very entertained and can only recommend the movie. Most likely will get an 16/R rating for the violence, drugs and nudity.

I'm very pleased to say that today I was finally able to buy a ticket for Kill Your Friends!  But, believe it or not, I'm not actually going to see it until next Tuesday! Still another week to wait.....

Very happy to see Damien's name mentioned by John Niven in this Kill Your Friends 'Inside Story' with John Niven via shortlist.com

Even if it is almost the last word.

 

Finally, at the end of October 2015, almost exactly 10 years after I began work on the novel of Kill Your Friends, the lights go down in the 500-seat theatre for the premiere of the movie. At this point people say, “You must be so excited!” The truth is the overwhelming feeling is one of relief.

Relief that Owen did such a great job of directing the film. That Nicholas Hoult was brave and talented enough to take on a role where he has to say appalling things about humanity every other minute. Relief that we put together such an incredibly talented young cast of supporting actors: Craig Roberts, Joseph Mawle, Ed Skrein, Georgia King, Dustin Demri-Burns, Tom Riley, Damien Molony… everywhere you look, in every scene, there is someone powerfully watchable.

It's great to see Damien's name in there. We know that he doesn't have a particularly big part and I think that comment coming from the guy who created the characters is great!  And yes rosie....a perfect description of Damien smile
