I just loved these scenes, there was so much humor in the air! It was fun to watch. Martha was so cool during these conversations, keeping her pokerface very well!
the dynamic with Martha and Jack here is fascinating!!!! we talked about it in the chat box chats..it's sublminal but there is some kind of chemistry going on there! she protests too much.. he teases too much...
it wasa bit of a clue to Jack... that he had not sharked in a long time...it was almost saying more,.... he's young but you get the sense he has no personal life as such?
Is it after these scenes that Jack check's out the nurses at the hospital?
One thing that bothered me in the cctv scene is when they are looking at it initially the plate is very clearly legible.
See, his competitive streak "10 pts...."
Also, notice he always says Detective Sergeant Jack Weston... Charlie will say DC Charlie. It's a point of pride for him, I think.

I think that he is his job and he doesn't have a social life so he takes pride in the fact that he is a detective. And a good one apparently since he thought of the gym locker key.

agree on the comment about him not having a personal life. he seems very dedicated to the job, and they've managed to convey that subtly. and humorously on numerous occasions (I'm thinking of the comment on the roof in next episode)

Maybe crush isn't the right word but it's the closest I can find. I don't think she wants a relationship with him or necessarily thinks of him sexually, but she likes his personality and she isn't blind to his cuteness.

I was thinking very same domino, I was thinking that maybe this job is Jacks whole life and he doesn't have much personal life going on because of it. And Whimsy, what bothered me most in that cctv scene was Jacks voice in the start, it was very strange!
still on sharking whimsy! but yes... love the competitivenss in the next scenes..
Jack has lots of intuitive hunches in htese scenes....at the end of the sharking one he has a hunch that the body was actually taken from the club and dumped.... which then goes on to be correct
at the cctv he notices the breaklight which then goes on to be Kirk Hawthornes carf
he has a hunch about Dave's keys, being for his gym locker.. which turns out to be 'key' crucial bit of evidence
OMG Jozie the kiss kiss kiss scene killed me! Jack is such a rebellious teenager! combined with those intuitive detectiving skills and quick mindedness (and hotness) it is a winning combo!
So much competitiveness in that scene with Charlie & Jack. I love Martha's sardonic "you should be a detective" and "my top team" She's like a mom indulging her two kids!
I don't see Martha having any sort of romantic feelings towards Jack at all. If anything I see maternal, or maybe even more accurately older sister, with all that ribbing. But maybe that's just me.
