And there are only two options in this poll - no whisky / lemonade mixers, you have to pick one or the other!

Lemonade is more suiting because I think whiskey is a bit ruff for him. I could see someone like Drake drinking it, the rough-and-tough kind. Even Evelyn noticed he didn't look right drinking whiskey. Plus who doesn't love a man that can turn a drink down!  lemon

Definitely lemonade! He is a cut above the hard drinkers in the pub. Don't know what he thinks about Guinness though!

Lemonade always. Albert couldn't be whisky if he tried and that's why I love him! ;)

I love that in an era where it seemed to be perfectly acceptable to drink at work (i'm looking at you Inspector Reid), Flight sticks to his principles.

The symbolism of the whisky and the lemonade for aspects of Albert are very clever!

The is little whisky in Albert, but he wants to be more lemonade, not whisky anymore (his pass life) so I will say, lemonade lemon

I agree, Jozie, that Albert wants to be lemonade, which is one of the reasons why I said he was. He only drinks the whisky with Evelyn to make his cover more convincing so that he could do his job well and she tells him that he doesn't need to drink whisky to impress her.

I love the openess of this question, domino - I wonder if we are all interpreting it the same way?!

I can't resist that look he gives Evelyn, when she comes back into her bedroom to find Albert looking at her necklaces. I'm not describing it very well - he has his head tilted to one side and is ruffling the back of his hair. That look is all whisky ;)

Funny how Albert is whisky when he is pretending to be Bertrand. Or is he really whisky Bertrand and it's lemonade Albert Flight who is the act?

 that is the interesting question!

There are plenty of crossover moments too I feel.... when we meet Albert, he is definitely not being lemonade. But when faced with true darkness, and his emotions come to the surface, his moral compass points towards goodness. So if we are using the whisky=bad/  lemonade-good analogy I'd say he is a glass of lemonade with a good shot of whisky!

Hmmm - good question!

I agree that at first glance Flight is more lemonade.... Hard liquer vs a soft drink!  Whisky is often associated with agression - which really isn't Flight.  Not to mention the fact that whisky drinking isn't particularly synonymous with keeping secrets.

But having given it some thought....I'm not so sure!

Lemonade is light, refreshing, zesty.  It's easily produced (even I can make it!!) and is best drunk as fresh as possible.  Whisky making, on the other hand, is a complicated process.  It has a rich colour and layers of flavour which need time develop....mature....mellow.  It is a connoisseur's drink which should be sipped slowly and savoured.

Yeah - my vote's for whisky!

Good to read your reasons for chosing whisky, fifi. I could see there were votes for whisky but all the comments seemed to be for lemonade so I was interested to know what the whisky voters thought!

in terms of pictures, I chose this one because it seems very cuspy and layered (wow cuspy is a word I've only used for Hal 'til now.. interesting)
considering Flight is undercover here... started by asking for whisky, then drinking some, but being called out by Evelyn because she can see through it, and Flight revealing some of his history (or IS it?) and Evelyn has invited Flight into her bedroom....

Lemonade for Flight, not convinced Flight was lying about his 'tragic' 'made up' back story... He didn't deny it, and made him emotional... And of course Flights past remained a mystery...
