Series 1 & 2 aired after CBB (I think!) while series 3 was during (good plan imo). We know CBB is def coming in August (anyone know a date?) so this would also confirm an August date for Suspects S4 or worse case scenario September.

What is exciting is to have a cast member confirm S4 is actually happening, until now we only had the voice over announcement at the end of Series 3, with no other 'official' mentions at all.

The question is... will it be the 1 or 2 episode(s) per week format? Which did everyone prefer?

I loved S2 being aired on consecutive nights - but that's because I loved the 2 parter format.  I think it worked really well giving the stories longer to unravel over 2 consecutive nights -  tho, if anything, they seemed to rattle along at an even faster pace!  If they were 2 parters then it's great not to have to wait a whole week until the conclusion.  But, tbh, if they're going to be single episode plot lines (which I presume they are) I would prefer them to be aired one per week - that way the series lasts longer!!

I agree with fifi. Two parters were good on consecutive days because you didn't have to wait but it did mean the series finished too quickly.

I was in a meeting today and one of the people had been a policeman in the East End. I wanted to ask him if he knew Jack! ;)

August would be great for series 4 but June would be better!

I agree with both of you too! Yes the two-parters were great, to allow for storyline and character development.. and having them on consecutive nights meant not being kept in suspense for too long...but it did mean the series was over in 2 weeks which is too quick!

The solution? Clearly it would be better to have a longer series with perhaps at least 8 episodes, 4 x 2-parters over a 4 week period Yes please Channel 5 Gods!!

That thought crossed my mind too Jozie, my comment was "looking forward to Series 4 news" and her reply "Hopeful we can bring you all some news soon" does suggest the news relates to S4 only.. but we can always hope.. and I am very much hoping for more Suspects, Channel 5 are on to a good thing so they'd be silly to cut it off in its prime!

It seems that Big Brother is due to finish the last week of July. So fingers crossed for Suspects in the first week of August.....

For some reason i feel quite pessimistic about the chances of more Suspects filming.  I agree that Channel 5 would be mad to drop it.......but I don't have much faith in the sanity of any of the tv programmers, let alone Channel 5.  But I really, really hope I'm wrong!

SUSPECTS Series 4 has been added to the Suspects IMDb page, which in this case is maintained by official sources so this is good news... and means it is coming soon!

It looks like there are 4 episodes. Some cast names have been added.

Well, our assumptions have born out.  Happy to know we will finally get to see the unaired episodes, though resigned to this most likely being the last series.  Depending on how it's scheduled I might actually be in the UK when it airs!

It feels as though those original episodes were filmed ages ago - even though it's less than 2 years.  Seems a bit strange that we're finally going to get to see them.  When they were filmed we had so little idea what to expect from Suspects and now it feels like it's been around for ages......maybe because we've already had 3 (admittedly rather short) series.  

It makes me kind of sad because we've always known that there were these episodes which hadn't been aired....and then they filmed some more - and that second filmimg session was so much fun for us! - but when these have aired it'll be like we've spent all of our savings...... lol!  I keep thinking that if they managed to film 10 eps in....was it 6 weeks? then they could trot out another couple of two parters in a few days in the autumn to air next spring......couldn't they??!   But I'm not really optimistic  no

It's also quite weird to consider that when this series has aired Damien will have appeared on our tellys as Jack for longer than he did as Hal...... (only 14 eps of Hal - and he was only in ep1 s4 briefly - and there'll have been 17 eps of Suspects!)
