Looking forward to seeing Damien in a comedy again! Fingers crossed we hear something soon. It's all too quiet on the Damo front at the moment.

I wonder whether they actually showed the pilot rather than ep 1 of the series and that's why they used that photo? It looks as if they scheduled a single episode whereas other things seem to have been a couple. Maybe they didn't have access to a fully finished first ep?

 I thought the same thing...

But either way its so good to hear something/anything about this...but agree with domino that it would be strange to call it a world premier as the pilot has already aired. 

But either way it's great to hear something/anything about this. Hopefully we won't have to wait too long before something more like an actual air date.  It's definintely been far too quiet on the damo front lately....

Pretty sure it's not the first week of July, Gameface doesn't appear in my advanced tv guide... also..nothing has been announced and we are nearly in July...

Beginning to wonder if the Guardian and HMV are wrong about the month, but Roisin has tweet replied to a couple of people it will be in the summer!

 I am a bit glad that it is not the first week in july, because I am going on vacation tomorrow .. after that it can go.

Comedy and Drama Summer 2017 Highlights

With more mention of a July release, via ATV Today!

And over on E4 this month Roisin Conaty’s self-penned sitcom GameFace, is a new addtion to the comedy slate.

The six part show for E4 began life as a comedy BLAP. The story sees Conaty play Marcella, an aspiring actress with a distinct world view who despite being ever optimistic can’t quite get her work, family or love life on track. The series follows Marcella as she tries to make a success of her life and career, and navigate the changing landscape of her 30’s, whilst still recovering from the break-up of a long term relationship.

She is aided and abetted by her therapist, played by Karl Theobald (Green Wing, Plebs), friends and, unusually, her driving instructor. Pauline McLynn (Father Ted, Shameless) plays Marcella’s mum with Francis Magee (Witless, Game of Thrones, Rogue One) as her furious dad and Dylan Edwards (Wasted, Pramface) as wayward brother Billy. Damien Molony (Crashing, Being Human) plays her long-suffering driving instructor Jon, Nina Toussaint-White (Uncle, Emmerdale) and comedian Caroline Ginty play Lucy and Caroline, Marcella’s best friends and flatmates, and Dustin Demri Burns (Cardinal Burns, Pyschobitches) is ex-boyfriend Simon.

 Well, I had a quick look in the urban dictionary and retired, blushing. Somehow I don't think the definition given there is the one mentioned in the article!

I'm guessing you don't blush that easily so I won't go looking, Ellie! I googled "blap comdey" yesterday because I had no clue either - it looks like it's just the name Channel 4 give to their comedy pilot programme which starts with online shorts. They don't show it as an acronym or anything and indeed don't always make it upper case. If it has a rude meaning they presumably didn't know or don't care!

Lol! How did i miss this convo! Who knew Gameface would be so tangentially educational, first "dab" then "blap"!
"comedy blap" does suggest a short punchy dose of funny though doesn't it?

Looking at tv schedules, Gameface is not coming in the first 3 weeks of July...
